Anime Kimagure Orange Road [TV] Episode 1 The Transfer Student! Shy with New Love. Opening Ending Version watched Subtitled by RAADORS Summary by Kylara (E-mail) A young teenage boy with dark hair is setting up the timer on a camera. Sitting on a bench in front of a lake are two girls, about his age - one with long dark hair, the other with short, blonde hair. The boy's voice says, "One meeting leads to two loves, and three trembling hearts played a gentle melody. Kasuga Kyosuke, fifteen years old!" He runs forward to the bench to pose with the girls, but instead trips over the bench and falls in the lake with a great splash. The camera takes two pictures - one of a great geyser of water exploding behind the girls, and another of a sheepish Kasuga, dripping wet. { Screen Shot }

Kyosuke is wearily climbing up a lot of steps, counting them. After ninety steps, he looks back down, and averages it to be about one hundred steps. A breeze blows by, cooling him, when he spots a red straw hat. He jumps up in the air and catches it easily, accidentally putting it on when a girl's voice says it's a nice catch. { Screen Shot } It's a rather pretty girl his age with long, dark hair. She says she's happy he caught it, otherwise it might've gone all the way down. After all, she continues, it's a whole ninety-nine steps. Shocked, he replies, "Ninety-nine?" Continuing his counting, he lands on the top counting, "One-hundred!" She's surprised, and argues that no, it's ninety-nine (he's still wearing her hat); he must have counted wrong! He says he's sure, she must've counted wrong. Another breeze blows by, and her hat is blown off his head. He jumps off and grabs it again, almost falling. (He puts the hat back on.) He declares it must be ninety-nine and a half. She repeats it confusedly, and then they both start laughing. She says he must be new to this town - surprised, he asks how she knew. Looking at him, she says he has an accent. She then says good-bye and dashes off down the stairs.
She's only partway down when he yells after her to get her hat. She tells her to keep it; it looks good on him. He straightens it on his head. (It's a girl's sun hat! ^_^;) He yells his name after her, and she looks back. She then runs off. He thinks to himself that he likes this city.
As he runs into his apartment building, he notices that the mailbox card for his house is upside down. Flipping it around, it reads: Kasuga Takashi; Kyosuke, Manami, Kurumi. { Screen Shot } He then opens the door, saying he's home. He hears a, "Look out, brother!" He looks up only to have a flying dresser slam into him. His hat falls off, and the drawer falls onto him, spilling out a bunch of bras. His two sisters look on, while the refrigerator flies by with the cat. He says (to us) that this may come as a surprise, but his whole family uses ESP. He starts scolding them, saying HOW many times has he told them not to use power. One sister says it was Kurumi, while the accused replies cutely that how else is she supposed to fix the furniture? While he scolds them, he looks out the doors, just to make sure no one was looking. As he closes the door, he says, "How many times have we moved now, Kurumi?" The cat flies right by the glass doors. As he yells at her, the cat suddenly lands to the floor, the fridge landing right on top of it. The cat miraculously made it away, and is shaking with fright in the corner. Kurumi thinks to herself... four? Kyosuke yells back, "SEVEN TIMES! SEVEN TIMES! And to boot, the last time was the first day in P.E!"
A flashback occurs, of her in a race. When the coach said 'Go', she raced across incredibly fast. Shocked, the coach timed her at three seconds. She poses, and the class falls over in shock. Back in the present, he's still scolding her. He said it's not even possible in 7.5 seconds! An older man takes some pictures them, posing. Even though they were in a weird position, they posed instantly. { Screen Shot } Kyosuke starts yelling at his dad, saying it's just not ok for Kurumi to do that! Her dad scolds her a bit, saying that shouldn't happen. The other sister picks up the red hat, and is about to put it on when Kyosuke snatches it. They're shocked; it's HIS hat? They call him 'Hentai'. (REALLY big pervert.) Kurumi then looks for the cat, which dashes off. It runs about, but Kurumi appears to be using her powers to make it fly back. As a very tired man comes out of his apartment, he sees the cat fly by - then runs back in and slams the door. In his room, Kyosuke is thinking about the girl he met, with the hat on. He thinks he'll do well in this town, but then flops on his bed and says that he was kidding.
His sisters and he are waiting for the train to pass by, and he yells at them to ABSOLUTELY remember to not use their powers. As the guard bar comes up, he gets picked up by it as his sisters walk away. Up the street, a boy and a girl riding a motorcycle come racing down. He's being very obnoxious, yelling at them to clear the road. She's just squealing in happiness. He begins to lose control of the bike, and it heads straight for Kurumi. Annoyed, she makes it go in the other direction. (Kyosuke scolds Kurumi, who pleads that there wasn't anytime for any other kind of reaction.) The boy is confused, while the girl thinks it wasn't bad at all. As she runs off to school, he yells after her that he'll pick her up after school. Annoyed, she turns around and exclaims that just because she asked him for a ride, it doesn't mean she's interested! Besides, has he looked in the mirror lately? He's about to beat her up, but then she keeps greeting teachers that pass by, and of course he can't hurt her then. (She has short blonde hair, and is fairly cute.) She gets away from him. Kyosuke and his sisters are watching, and she yells at him not to look, and just go to class.

Kyosuke is being introduced to his class. His teacher comments that he's transferred seven times; is he trying to set a record? Kyosuke hurriedly changes the subject by walking over to an empty desk, but notices it has a bag on it. The teacher says that's Ayukawa's desk. Kyosuke asks if she's in the bathroom? The class starts laughing. The teacher sternly directs him to another seat, saying that's his. Several guys on the other side of the classroom, one named Komatsu Seiji. He asks Kyosuke if he's interested in girls; if so, he's got the BEST information. Another guy named Hatta pops in, saying he really is an informational network. He pulls out a bunch of photos of a girl in D-class, saying she has... "An 80 centimeter bust and .. let's see, her hips are..." The other guy is clutching his hands over his face, and suddenly, he gets a horrific nosebleed. Seiji replies that it's gross!
Kyosuke asks curiously about that absent girl. Seiji says that she's a real bad one, who's skipping class right now. (The guy with the nose bleed is being directed away. He tells him to watch out - there are some real bad girls around here! The teacher scolds them, and while Seiji is looking at the photos, the teacher hits him with an eraser. { Screen Shot }
Outside the classroom, Seiji is showing him the high school and the college. He explains that this school is simply enough, an elevator school. You start out and you just keep going. (Note: That means there are no entrance exams, exit exams, or the like.) The nosebleed boy, Hatta, is looking at the photos greedily.
Kyosuke looks down the hall; he can hear music. Looking into the dark room, he sees a girl playing the sax - the mysterious Ayukawa. She plays very well. Seiji says he should go and not bother her. She's also known as Madoka the Pick. (She seems not to have noticed them.)
The blonde girl from earlier is making fun of the guy she dumped, because he brought his entire gang to take her somewhere. She continues to insult them despite their threats, saying that she should clean the river bank with them. She's not one bit scared. Kurumi is watching, shocked.
The other sister is talking to his new friends, saying that Kurumi followed that girl from earlier! Hatta and Seiji start to look her up, but just as they're about to pounce, she and Kyosuke run off. Hatta gets another nose-bleed.
The blonde girl fends off one of them with her bag, and the other two knock into eachother. Kurumi is about to help, but her brother drags her back. Finally, all the guys have finally caught the girl. She lets out an incredible scream, and then gets sliced in the hand by a sharp guitar pick.
Lo and behold, the girl from earlier is there. The blonde girl is thrilled, saying, "Madoka-san!" Madoka tells them to let Hikaru go; when they don't, she runs down the hill and neatly proceeds to beat them all up. Kyosuke is surprised beyond words. Hikaru is ecstatic to be saved. The gang member that got sliced in the hand by the pick says that she is "Madoka the pick," isn't she? Hikaru says that if he knows who she is, he'd better run! He just looks angry, then happy. He asks her to be his woman.
Madoka answers that there seem to be many men around her who think they're good looking, aren't there? Hikaru laughs, but Madoka doesn't. The gang member approaches her, and she grabs his hand tightly enough to make it hurt. She tells Hikaru to stand back, and the gang members (now awake) come back to fight her. Kicking, punching, and slapping her way around, she neatly gets around each one of them. The last guy falls into the river after she twists his arm around.
Kyosuke, shocked, thinks to himself that at that moment, he must've looked like an incredible idiot.
As the gang rides away (saying that they'll be back), Hikaru is yelling at them not to come back. Madoka tells her to stop. Madoka pulls out a pack of cigarettes. Kyosuke says that he met her yesterday, didn't he? Hikaru is surprised; Madoka-san knows him? Madoka replies rather darkly that no, she doesn't. (His sisters, who were jumping up and down that he knew her, fall down.) Madoka is about to light up when Kyosuke, shocked, thinks to himself that even though he's not a saint, even he didn't like that. He snaps out the light with ESP. His sisters are shocked, and he tells them to be quiet. She says that if she does that, she would never have healthy kids! Internally, he thinks that he did it now, didn't he... She says that he has no right to lecture her, and slaps him. He falls down and rolls a few times.
In his room, he thinks of her, holding the hat while hearing the sax music. Kyosuke keeps thinking about when he got the hat, and how she was, and et cetera. He knows it's her, he thinks it's her...
Madoka is playing the sax in her own room somewhere.
