02/04/2004 Entry: "Creativity is Lacking Today"

Well, it's definitely confirmed. I am most definitely running for Key Club President.

I hope that I get elected. In the event that I get elected, I hope that I:
- do not blow up the club
- do not make Thomson hate me
- do not hate Thomson

I think that gets the main points. I really enjoy history class, and it would be a pity to hate my last two months of it. Today was the day where we did final sign ups for the eventuality of if we were running for an officer position... Sarkiss didn't know for sure, so he asked Lucy what would happen if he ran, got elected, and then decided not to do it.

She told him to never, ever get near Thomson again. Bit scary, isn't it?

At any rate, if he's running, it's me and him, but man, there are a TON of people running for the other officer positions. Quite a few O.O; I think there are four or five people running for vice president? And maybe three each for treasurer and secretary.... I guess they all detest the idea of running two meetings plus agendas.

Makes you wonder what I'm doing. Meh.

It was hailing a bit today, did you notice? Either that or they were abnormally large raindrops that stayed in drop formation for a few seconds after hitting the ground. They did melt as soon as they touched down, but it was hail. Yay. I've seen it twice in my life now.

Today was my mother's birthday, and I relished in telling her that she is exactly three times my age.

I need to get my driver's license. Eeeek.

I just bought a twelve pack of blue pens. I hope I like the color blue, because all my essays for the next year are going to be this particular shade.

By the way, have you people seen the AP Review sessions? There is nothing I'd like more than to DIE. I have to attend 34 sessions over the course of March and April. Add to that Key Club Convention, SAT's, running for KC Prez, school projects, and the regular amounts of homework equates to a very unhappy Janice.

I concluded earlier today that no one has as many sessions as me except the Mumbling Fumbling Bozo. How very depressing. I keep going around and showing my review schedule to people, hoping for pats on the head and clucks of sympathy.

I didn't show it to Andrew, because he would point and say, "Haha! Bastard!" and when I showed it to Mike, he did in fact say, "Haha! Pointless."

For the record, I did get a pat on the head from Christina (so perfectly reliable), a "can I have one too" from Stacy, a "ah, ha" from Earl, and some hummmmmms followed up by, "I have those too, nice to die with you."

I have new highlighters to make me feel better. Look, ma! They come in pink, green, orange, and yellow x 3!

I checked out the prices of color photocopies at Office Depot. Holy shit, how did people make color literature last year for over 300 Key Clubbers? (Literature, rather than being enthralling works of written art, is instead those little papers the candidates give you with their name and qualifications plastered all over that generally end up in the trash can.) It costs nearly a DOLLAR per ONE FREAKING COPY. Fitting four to a page means that the recommended amount of copies (90 for 360 copies of literature) means a little less than NINETY DOLLARS. No way did all the officers spend that much on copies, damn it. I think my father thought I was nuts... he said something about not going over $30. I was more than a little disturbed by the prices... meeh. Not to mention I still need a platform. Ah, well, at least I only need a one minute speech.. I think the officers at District Convention need a five minute speech AND a two minute speech. I remember them speaking (and some of them babbling with glassy eyes) for quite some time.. oh, and a few of them got cut off because they didn't time their speeches right.

Jessica, have fun.

I'm reading Hiroshima by John Hersey for my book report. Is it a cop out? A bit, since the thing is less than 170 pages. Do I care? Not particularly, since Grogan never takes into account the difficulty of a book and gave me a freaking 89 on Tender is the Night by freaking FITZGERALD, which I stupidly read in preparation for Gatsby, and which should better be known as Hellfire Lights the Night in terms of the depressing-ness (yay, making up words) of the entire book and my inability to comprehend why this man simply keeps slipping down the loooooong slide to, well, hell. I have to face it: I simply suck at deciphering classic literature. It all stems down to my unwillingness to always just sit down and think about it; whenever I play Zelda, I lose all desire to find the last heart pieces and charts or whatever myself and revert to a player's guide.

Oh my god, I'm comparing Fitzgerald to a video game. A good video game, but nevertheless.

Time to sleep. Whee.

Spoken words: 18 have fallen.

1) you can delete comments
2) good luck running for kc prez. *pat pat* i'm so proud of my little sister. although, talking to you last night, i thought that guy decided not to run? is that still a possibility?
2a) if you win, i'm sure you can ask dad to raise your allowance and pay for copying. maybe. also, $30 is more than enough. no way you need *color* photocopies...just concentrate on the content.
2b) if elected, remember not to scare all the freshmen away. i get this vision of you screaming at lazy people who run away crying.
3) i'm at work now, and man it's boring. :P

On 2b: Christina mentioned this too. What IS it with people thinking that I'm going to eat the freshmen? I would never do such a thing - far too scrawny, and scared meat is never tasty.

On 2: I don't think he is, but one should never bet too much on it.

2a is a very good thing.

And yeah, actually, could you help me with number one? That online casinos thing is commented on more than one of my entries, and it must be a bot, but it's irritating. :)

Posted by Janice @ 02/04/2004 03:35 PM PST

Jan for prez! Woo-hoo.

Posted by Sarah @ 02/04/2004 03:48 PM PST

Oh I don't think Sarkis is running for Prez anymore and I'm the only one running for Secretary. Cuz no wants that job because its the hardest! At least thats what Elizabeth said. I'm not sure if I want to run, but working with you would be fun!!!

Posted by Taleen @ 02/04/2004 05:21 PM PST

It takes you a whole semester to go through twelve pens? Amateur.

My head-pats are full of love and cookie dough. Cherish them.

Mumbling Fumbling Bozo? Did I miss something?

Heh, The Red Badge of Courage is only 120 pages. Small print, but still. Hiroshima is good, but it can be confusing with all the different characters. The names won't bother you though because you've had plenty of practice with anime.

Yeah, well I'm not as racist as you are.

Posted by Christina @ 02/05/2004 07:04 AM PST

Racist? Jan? Never...

Today is an angry day. Must think about the formal and lovely, swishy dresses....

Posted by Sarah @ 02/05/2004 05:13 PM PST

On Saekis....I asked him today about 5 hours ago...and he said he dedcided to run. Which meant he told me yes today in physics. ANyways, yea...they also charge you to cut the paper into nice 4 equal sections. Those leeches...

Don't remind me. I'm very scared of the speeches. If the canidate conference meeting doesn't go well...I might decide to run for LTG. So I'll have a pre-written LTG form waiting with Shelly, in case I decide to change courses here. Yea...my opponent would be Andrew Kao. I'm not sure if I'll be able to win if I only have a week to perpare.

Also, Thomson likes you at the moment (more so then others), but if you do screw up, he writes pretty gruesome recommendation letters. Liz and Shelly were telling me how somebody in the previous year got a recommnedation letter with Thomson saying they were lazy, unresponsible, and totally not right for their school. (They know this because they opened the letter.) Scary....

Posted by Jessica @ 02/05/2004 07:45 PM PST

I meant Sarkis.

Posted by Jessica @ 02/05/2004 07:46 PM PST

SO MANY PEOPLE ARE RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT NOW. Sarkiss and Adam.. I asked Adam what made him decide to run for prez (rather than treasurer), and I swear to god, he sneered at me and said that "lots of people told him to run and that he thought he could do a good job". Well, hello. I wasn't even asking rudely.

Molly is going to run for LTG too, so you'll have to compete with two people. Who will get the endorsement? Dum dum dum..

Well, we'll worry about me screwing up later. Let's just try to get me elected first.. eeck. I'm scared T_T; I want to do a good job as Prez, and I don't think anyone wants this position more than me, but will that reach the club? :x

Posted by Janice @ 02/06/2004 04:05 PM PST

Enthusiams always reaches the recipient. They'll get it. No one likes Adam anyways.

Posted by Sarah @ 02/06/2004 05:10 PM PST

Chris Abramian for Key Club President.

Posted by Andrew @ 02/07/2004 05:23 PM PST

Bite me Andrew. Bitter hack. ;)

Posted by Sarah @ 02/07/2004 10:17 PM PST

Adam is an utter twit. I wouldn't let him lead me to a soda machine.

Do I even know Sarkis? I scoff in his general direction.

Jessica: Good lord. Thomson is now right up there with the Drama department's black belt in tae kwon doe (sp?) on the list of people I SHOULD NEVER EVER CROSS.

Posted by Christina @ 02/08/2004 11:28 AM PST

I blow my nose at all other candidates. Their mothers were hamsters and their fathers smelled of elderberries. I fart in their general direction.

Posted by Sarah @ 02/08/2004 12:47 PM PST

The support touches my heart.

Oh, yeah, responding to one of your earlier comments, the Mumbling Fumbling Bozo is Eric. ^_^

Thomson has this terrible temper once unleashed. May you never be in the crossfire.

Posted by Janice @ 02/08/2004 12:51 PM PST

Amen to that.

Posted by Sarah @ 02/08/2004 03:48 PM PST

Janice: Yea...I found out that Molly is running...and since I don't want to run against her...I guess it's for sure that I'm running for district. And on Eric...he is a pretty good speaker when he's in front of a lot of people. He just blew Grogan's period 2 class away with his reading of Crucible. Grogan was surprised too. Maybe he's only a "Mumbling Fumbling Bozo" in front of you. Aww.... XP

Christina: hmm...now I'm afraid of the things you do in drama...black belt in tae kwon doe, huh? Shame on me for not working on the Gatsby project...going to work on it now. Also, thanks for the help on blocking people. :)

Posted by Jessica @ 02/08/2004 07:46 PM PST

La la la

I have no clue what you guys are talking about...
