Kozuki Miki thought she knew her parents. However, they've announced that they're leaving for America together to follow their life's dreams--her mom to train to be an astronaut, and her father to also work for NASA. Miki won't, however, be going with them--instead she ends up staying at the house of a family friend, who happens to have a boy named Kanata her own age. As it turns out, Miki and Kanata (also abandoned by his father, who's following his dream) get a little taste of outer space themselves, when a UFO comes flying into their house--and with a baby inside! A baby with its own "baby-sitter pet" who insists on calling them mommy and daddy! And so begins the story of Daa! Daa! Daa!, by Mika Kawamura, which ran in Nakayoshi and ended with 9 volumes, and was also turned into an anime. [ Review @ Anime Appetizers ]
